SMOOTH JIVE CLASSES

EVERY TUESDAY - Chesterfield

CLUB CHESTERFIELD

7:30pm to 10:30pm - Admission £5

There are many modern jive classes across the UK, however not all classes are the same. The version of modern jive that Smartdanceworks uses is Smooth Modern Jive. Smooth jive is the terminology used to describe the feel of the dance. It is a gentler, safer and smoother style. Low impact that is more technique based, no pulling or pushing. It focuses on body movement and feel. Concentrates on the well-being of the dancer, and builds consistency and trust in our dance partners.

Our classes are not strict classes as we promote a social environment too. The classes are delivered in a fun way yet still get across good techniques.

On a typical night, Movements are put into short choreographed routines that the dancer can pick up quickly and easily in order to gain an immediate sense of achievement. The basic moves are rotated and repeated regularly so the moves are mastered properly by the dancer. Our class nights also offer a more challenging intermediate class followed by an uplifting and fun freestyle dance session, where you can practice what you have learnt. We encourage men to ask the ladies, and ladies to ask the men to dance, thereby our dance night provides, a great social evening, with an opportunity to make new friends, have fun, lose weight and get fit too!
